Kumarakom / Calicut

Indian tourist place Kumarakom is also known as Calicut. The other name of the city is Kozhikode, though mostly people recognized the place with Calicut name. Kozhikode is the Malabar shore of Kerala. Earlier the town was used for trading in southern India. Sea route to Kumarakom from Eruope nations was discovered by famous explorer Vasco Da Gama. He was the first captain who discovered the direct route from European country to India. In world history he found the Calicut city of India and suggested other countries to link India through same way. The Kumarakom town was regarded newest city on earth. 
 

Visiting Calicut will explore the town with lush flora, rivers, wildlife, hills and worship places. Travelers can enjoy this wonderful place with greenery every where. The top beach Kappakkadavu is most attractive spot of town. This beach is listed in history as Vasco Da Gama come to this beach first and created a History.
