Nainital




Nainital is a famous hill station in Uttrakhand state and situated in the Himalaya. Nainital is situated in a valley that contains a pear shaped lake. During summers Nainital’s temperature is – maximum 27° C and the minimum temperature is 7° C. In winter Nainital’s temperature is – maximum 15° C and the minimum is -3° C. Nainital lake is known as Tri rishi sarovar, hints about three rishis – Atri, Pulaha and Pulastya. Nainital was founded in 1841. The Naini lake is the one of other sixty four shakti peeths. From top of the Himalaya you can see the magnificent views of the south and north plain.



Naina Devi Temple : – Nainital is known as the one of sixty four Shakti Peeths, here one of body parts fell down when Lord Shiva was carrying the body of Goddess Parvati (Sati). Eyes of the Goddess were fallen in Nainital. Naina Devi temple is a religious place for all Hindus. This temple was reconstructed after 1880s earthquake. You will get an amazing view of the hill station from the temple by overlooking the lake.

Naini Lake : – This lake is a tourist hot spot and situated in the heart of the city. It is an eye – shaped lake and works as a magnet to attract visitors. Here you can enjoy the boating in the surrounding beauty. The lake’s north end is called as Mallital and the south end is called as Tallital. There are two banks, some shops and a post office on the lake bridge.

Governor’s House : – governor’s house was built in British era (1899). It was at the residence of the governor and it was built in Victorian Gothic style. It is an architectural monument and adding beauty with its lawns, swimming pool, golf course etc. If you want to visit this place you have taken the permission.

Nainital offers the visitor a memorable stay anytime of the year.Nainital is one of the most prominent hill resorts in the Indian subcontinent.
           


Nainital tourism provides for boating and yachting in Naina Lake. Fishing is also permitted with prior permission from the local authorites. Nainital located at an altitude of 1,938mts above sea level; Nainital derives its name from Naini Lake, a prominent tourist spot of Nainital. Nainital is located in the Kumaon region and is popularly known as the Lake District of India. Naini Lake holds a lot of significance especially among the Hindus as it is believed to be one of the 64 Shakti Peeths, where some parts of the burned body of Sati (Parvati) fell here while being carried by Lord Shiva. Nainital was founded by a European businessman, P. Barron who was in awe with the beauty of the Naini Lake. Nainital is famous for the Naini Lake where it is believed that Lord Shiva performed his tandava with Parvati’s body. The Naini peak or the China peak is the highest in Nainital with a height of 2611mts.

Darjeeling


Darjeeling 

  Darjeeling is world-famous Indian touristspot also accepted the queen of all hill stations. Darjeeling is famous for the nature beauty and clean fresh air. Visitors will get the calm and peace with pleasant weather around the year. The smiling and welcoming people of Darjeeling are amazing. People of such place encourage the visitors for visiting again and again. As everybody knows that the worlds 3rd highest mount is Kanchenjunga and that hill is near to Darjeeling. The clear view of hills of Darjeeling from Kanchenjunga is awesome. Some great things to watch in Darjeeling are tiger hill, Gompa, Tibetan Life and many others.


Places or spots for visitors:

Batasia Loop: This is the railway loop which is the great example of Indian engineering in hills. The toy train running on Batasia loop allow visitors to view the amazing nature and greenery beauty of Darjeeling. Batasia loop is made of five kilometres but it gives the different feeling. It could be the diverse experience of life as traveling through train on highest peak is always dissimilar. 
 
 
Bhutia Busty Gompa: A monastery in Darjeeling known as Bhutia Busty Gompa is another tourist spot. Earlier this monastery was situated at observatory hills, though it was shifted to present place some years back. It is a division of the Nying Mapa Sector Phodang of Sikkim which is another monastery of north east India. 
 



Botanical Gardens:
the beautifully designed gardens with amazing flowers and floras are also special for visitors of Darjeeling. Its exotic and elite collection of a diversity of Himalayan plants, orchids and flowers are astonishing.
 

 
 Chowrasta: Those who love to do shopping must visit Chowrasta which is a best point for buying purse or many other hand made things of Darjeeling. Buying the original tea from such point is also good for tea lovers. The Nehru and Mall Road at this point allow tourist to get their desired things at this high hill. Vision of snow capped peaks of Kanchenjunga is one more nature beauty example of Darjeeling.

 
   
Happy Valley Estate: The tea gardens are best at this spot and tourist can view the high farms of tea from this place. Though, this estate is not open for everybody so people having permission from officer of the estate can spend hours at this place.

Dhoom Gompa: This is one more Gompa situated at 8 km distance from Darjeeling. The stunning statue of Prospective Buddha is established at this point.

 
 
Himalayan Mountaineering Museum: People who want to study regarding the culture and history of Darjeeling should visit the Museum. This is not only a museum but also institute of Mountaineering. The courses in this center produce very good engineers as it contains very good collection of mountaineering equipments. The valleys and locations of this museum are used in many short movies as well.

Kanchenjunga Hill View: the best and uninterrupted view of the world’s 3rd highest mountain Kanchenjunga is easily viewable from this peak and because of such reason this hill is known as Kanchenjunga view hill point.
 
 
Kurseong: this is center way of Siliguri and Darjeeling. This is another beautiful spot having equally importance for tourism as it is full of splendour views.
 

Natural History Museum: here people can watch collection of over 4300 specimen. This Natural museum was established in 1903. The estuarine crocodiles and unique good collection of butterflies is best things to watch this museum.


Passenger Ropeway: one more tourist spot in Darjeeling is Passenger Ropeway. This ropeway connects North point which 7000 ft higher to Singla Bazaar which is 800 ft higher.
 
 
Observatory Hills: the breathtaking view of Kanchenjunga peak is possible from this point as well. The snow and high hills could be different experience for visitors. This very sacred hill is having ample of Hindus temples and Buddhists monasteries. The Kali Mata Temple is decorated with many colourful flags. 
Some more places and spots such as Rungli Rungliot, Senchal Lake, Siliguri/Jalpaiguri, and Zoological Gardens are available for tourist where people can enjoy a lot. 
 

Travel:
By Air: The closest airport to Darjeeling is Bagdogra which is just 100 km away from Darjeeling. Many domestic and international flights are available at Bagdogra.

By Rail: the closest railway station is Shiliguri which is directly connected with many major cities of India. Toy Train is available from Shiliguri to Darjeeling so visitors can enjoy the green view of hills and big mountains through this train.

By Road: Shiliguri is the closest spot to reach Darjeeling through road. Buses and private taxies are easily available at Shiliguri so visitors can reach the place easily.

Kullu is the well-known hill station of India. This Dale of gods is popular for natural beautiful views and handcraft. This most delightful region of western Himalayas is famous for tracking and many other events. The charm and big hills on every side with river Beas make it different than other tourist places. Kullu hill station is the nearest tourist place of Manali and people who visit Manali should reach Kullu as well.


The natural beauty and big hills view can make the moment memorable for the visitors. The valley of Kullu is only 80 KMs long, and its width is just 2 KMs broad. The spectacular variegated mountain scenery is a dissimilar experience of life.

 
Spring is the season when Kullu is changed into the most colourful place with pink blossoms and white flowers whereas the higher hills are glowing with stunning roses. However, reaching Kullu in December is not much beneficial as there is no greenery apart from the royal cedars and pines in the jungles. In winter season, the hills are covered with white snow. Kullu is the small headquarter of Himachal Pradesh, which serves as a spirit center of the valley where people enjoy the various levels of tracking.

 
In summer season the weather changes to very pleasant and calm. The maximum temperature reaches at Kullu is not more than 30 degrees celsius where the nights still become a chill. People from different nations and states come to Kullu in summer season because of good weather. Visitors should take light woollen clothes along with them in summer season as well.

 
Reaching Kullu in winter season is really difficult because the temperature can go below 0 degree as most of the time it changes to freezing point temperature. Those who are planning to reach Kullu in winter season should carry the heavy woollen clothes. However, Kullu is little warmer than Manali as Manali is on higher heights than Kullu.



Places of attraction at Kullu


Raghunath Temple:
The main attraction of Kullu is Raghunath Temple where the devotees worship Lord Ram. This temple was built by King Jagat Singh, the ruler of Kullu in 17th century. This oldest temple is still active and devotees are regularly celebrating the events and functions such as Ram Navami and many others. The idol in Raghunath Temple was brought by King from Ayodhya.


Shringi Rishi Temple- Banjar: this temple is situated at good distant from 60 KMs from Kullu. The place known as Banjar valley is also another favorite spot for tourism. The Shringi Rishi Temple is located at this place and must be visited once people reach the Kullu.


Maha Devi Tirth Temple: this temple is popular as Vaishno Devi Mandir. This temple is situated at two kilometres distant from North from the Kullu valley.


Bijli Mahadev temple: this temple is one of the most outstanding creations of Indian art. This Lord Shiva temple is situated at 2,435 meters from sea level. The distance between the temple and Kullu bus stand is approximately 10 kms. The idol of god Shiva is 60 feet in height and can be seen from a the valley as well. Bijli point is also known as the highest point of Kullu, which allows the visitors to enjoy the beautiful view of the whole town.

Raison: those people who love adventure can visit Raison, which is situated at banks of the Beas. This place is good for trekking and many other sports events.


Shoja: this place is situated at the good height of 2692 meter and good vantage point for entire vista of the Kullu area such as snow hills, valleys, forests, meadows, rivers and streams.


Basheshwar Mahadev Temple: this temple is known for its intricate stone statues. Here people will find some astonishing work of Indian art.



Kasol: here, a tourist will get the Tourist Hut provided by the Himachal Pradesh tourism department. This spot is good for trout and a good place for fishing.

Naggar: Naggar was the capital of Kullu for 1400 years. However, now this place is under Himachal tourism and lots of sports events being conducted here. Painting and art gallery with astonishing designed houses at this place are must-visit areas. The paintings presented in this gallery are made by Nicholas Roerich, a Russian Artist.

 
 

Kullu Dussehra:
Dussehra is the well-known Hindu festival of India. The special thing about this fest is when the celebrations come to end in the country it gets the start in Kullu. Dussehra is the festival celebrated with huge celebrations so visitors will enjoy the fest while visiting the amazing place.



People can enjoy the fishing and many sports events at Kullu. Some spots are available with swimming feature as well so those who love to enjoy the water can go for swimming.

How to reach Kullu?
By Air: The closest airport of Kullu is Bhuntar airport. This airbase is just 10 KMs away from Kullu town. However, flights are limited to this place because of big hills and cold weather. People will get the direct flights from New Delhi and Chandigarh.

By Road: Tourist can directly reach to Kullu by road as tourist buses and taxies are available from Delhi (520 km), Chandigarh (270 Km), Shimla (220 Km), Manali (50 Km), Pathankot (275 Km) and Ambala (315 Km). Government and private tourist departments are providing buses and taxies for a tourist. The Volvo and deluxe buses are easily accessible by Delhi, but the booking should be done in advance otherwise seats will not be available.

By Train: The closest broad gauge railway station to Kullu is Chandigarh (270 Km). Some other alternate rail stations are Shimla and Jogindernagar.
 
 

Shirdi Sai Baba

Shirdi Sai Baba was the Indian yogi, guru, and fakir devoted by Hindu’s and Muslims. Loads of Hindu followers wrote the many religious books like Shri Sai Satcharitra. Hindus believe Sai Baba as a living form of Lord Krishna whereas rest devotees believe Sai Baba as Lord Dattatreya. Lots of devotees consider that Sai baba was the Sat guru, a Qutub or the liberal Sufi Pir. No provable details are available concerning Sai Baba's origin place and date.



One more fact is nobody knows the real name of Sai Baba. Baba got the name "Sai" when he came to Shirdi, which is a small town situated in west area of the Indian state Maharashtra. The local priest of the temple Mahalsapati recognized Baba as a Muslim Pir. He greeted baba with Ya Sai which means welcomes Sai. In Persian language, Sai or Sayi is the title given to their saints. Though, Sai is also referred as Sanskrit word as it is taken from the term Sakshat Eshwar.


 
Devotees of Sai baba are everywhere today as lots of proofs of Sai Kripa are available, which proves that he was the incarnation of God. Presently, people are coming throughout the world to Shirdi every year and praying to baba. Baba is very much admired Saint, particularly in India. People around the world are worshiping the Baba. Sai Baba taught an ethical system of love, helping others, forgiveness, donations, happiness, inside harmony, and dedication to God and spiritual leader. The teaching elements of Baba were combined for Hinduism and Islam both. Baba gave a Hindu name to his mosque as Dwarakamayi. He practiced Muslim and Hindu rituals, trained people using words, which illustrated from equally customs. The admired epigram of Sai Baba is "Sabka Malik Ek, which means One God rules all. Baba forever voiced "Allah Malik" which means God is King.
 

Baba came and went many times from Shirdi to other places. However, in 1858 Baba came back to Shirdi and this time he adopted his well-known manner of dressing, which contains the knee-length single piece kafni and cotton cloth to cover the head. Baba’s contribution for mankind is special and every person today turned as a devotee of baba.

Reaching Shirdi is possible by road and train so visitors can easily get this destination with no worries. This small town is located in Maharashtra and easy accessible through Ahmednagar to Manmad State Highway route no.10. Shirdi is situated at just 83 km distance from Ahmednagar and 15 km distant from Kopargaon. This best-known place is the home of Shirdi Sai Baba.

 
Shirdi is just 296 kms away from Mumbai and helicopter services are easiest and time saving method to reach Shirdi. The constructed helipad is purchased by SSBST (Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust). However, the novel railway station constructed in 2009 known as "Sainagar Shirdi" is also another way to reach such a holy place. This station is just 2 kms away from Baba's Temple. Local bus services are available from station to temple so that devotees can reach the destination with no difficulties.

Sai Samadhi Mandir: This temple is covering the last remains of Baba so this temple is recognized as Sai Samadhi Mandir. The construction of this temple was done by rich merchant Sreemant Gopalrao from Nagpur. He left the body on October 15th, 1918 and then onwards this place holds immense worship for Baba's supporters and followers.

Dwarakamayi Mosque: this is the mosque located on the right side of Sai Samadhi Mandir. Here Baba lit up lights every night. The huge stone is located on this mosque, which was used to take support while sitting by baba. 
 

Chavadi: situated close to the Dwarakamayi Mosque is another place to visit in Shirdi. This is a small house of two rooms known as chavadi. Sai baba spent almost every night in this house, and some proofs like seat (asan) is available there on which Baba uses to take a rest. Baba’s favourite wooden plank and wheel chair is also available in this house. At the time of Baba’s funeral his body was bathed in Chavadi.

Gurusthan: this is the holy spot placed under the tree Neem. Devotees can see the huge portrait of Sai Baba is Gurusthan, which is placed in front of shivling and Nandi cow. The burning incense in Gurusthan is also praised by devotees.

Khandoba Temple: this temple is situated at the Ahmednagar to Kopergaon highway road. Khandoba temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. This Shirdi’s oldest temple is must-visit spot for visitors of Shirdi.

Mahadev, Shani and Ganesh Temples: these temples are located in an adjacent row. These are old temples of Shirdi and loads of devotes are visiting these temples everyday.
 

Some other places to visit in Shirdi are Shani Shingnapur, Adul Baba Cottage, House of Laxmibai Shinde, Dixit Wada Museum, Thursday Palki Procession, Jangli Maharaj Ashram, Upasani Maharaj Ashram and Lendibagh.
